Why I Need Sponsors
Signals of Hope isn’t a business model.
It’s a mission.
When I take someone out detecting for their mental health, I don’t charge them. I don’t want money to be a barrier. If someone is struggling, the last thing they need is another cost to worry about.
But running these days properly isn’t free.
Equipment costs money.
Fuel costs money.
Insurance costs money.
Hi-vis tops, headphones, spades, spare machines — it all adds up.
If I’m going to take people out safely, responsibly and consistently, I need the right kit. I need backup machines. I need to be able to travel. I need to be able to grow this beyond just one or two local digs.
Sponsors allow that to happen.
They don’t just support a logo — they support real people standing in real fields, taking real steps forward. They help remove the financial barrier so someone who’s struggling can say “yes” without worrying about cost.
In return, I give recognition, visibility, and alignment with something genuine. Signals of Hope stands for community, resilience and action — not just words.
This isn’t about profit.
It’s about impact.
And with the right support behind it, that impact can reach far beyond one field in Essex.
The Tier Levels of Sponsorship:
Land & Dig Support
The Signals of Hope project relies on one simple but vital thing — land to detect on. Without fields, there are no signals to listen for, no peaceful walks across open ground, and no opportunity to introduce people to the calm and focus that metal detecting can bring.
I’m always grateful to dig organisers, farmers, and landowners who are willing to help support the project by allowing us access to land or by welcoming us onto organised digs. Even allowing one or two additional people to attend with me can make a huge difference.
These individuals are always supervised, respectful, and follow the detecting code of conduct — filling holes, respecting crops, and treating the land with care.
Your support doesn’t just provide a place to detect — it provides someone with a few hours of quiet, purpose, and hope.
